My name is Sue and my husband Matthew and I have been breeding Burmese since 1997. We live on the sunny Central Coast, NSW Australia, on a 4 acre property. It is an hour drive north of Sydney, on the F3 freeway. We are both animal lovers and grew up with cats, dogs, birds, guinea pigs and mice. We also bred Australian Silky Terriers for many years under the ‘Najinsky’ prefix. We are registered with the NSW Cat Fanciers Association and are members of the Cat Protection Society.
We were won over by the Burmese breed when we bought our first Burmese chocolate girl called Kiska 11 years ago. She has been the most wonderful, loyal companion and still is kitten-like in nature. She loves people and it is this trait that got us hooked on Burmese.
We are a very small boutique cattery. We do not breed our queens more than once a year and don’t have many litters in a year so we can devote all our time to socialising and looking after the kittens. We have a 'no cage' policy for kittens and they are born and raised with us in our home until they are ready to leave. The kittens are spoilt and given lots of cuddles every day.
Burmese are the most beautiful cats. They are highly intelligent, very loyal and love being part of a family. They do not like being excluded. They are good with children and will get on with the family dog. Our Doberman and Kelpie both love our cats. Burmese are extremely people-oriented; their personalities are almost dog-like and they have a desire to give and receive affection. They're keen to supervise as you make the bed or work on the computer and are always happy to "help" you read the newspaper. They love warm laps and enjoy cuddling up in bed or snuggling in front of the TV. Typically, Burmese are always with people. Burmese should never be let outdoors as they have no survival instinct and are entirely too trusting. They adapt very easily to unit living.
Please email or call us if you have any questions or are thinking of purchasing a Burmese kitten.
